How can I install LibreOffice in Upper Sorbian language?

  • Open a browser and go to the www.libreoffice.de page.
  • Click on “Download” in the header bar. In the menu that appears, select LibreOffice Download.
  • On the page you will find different versions of LibreOffice under “Download LibreOffice”. Select the second one from the top by clicking on the yellow Download button.
  • Execute the downloaded file (LibreOffice_7.0.6_Win_x64.msi), e.g. with a double click.
  • Confirm in the installation wizard by clicking on “Next”.
  • In the next dialogue, select “User-defined” instead of “Typical” and confirm again with “Next”.
  • Now you can select “Upper Sorbian” as the language for the spell checker and for documents in LibreOffice.
  • In the following dialogue “User-defined configuration” you can now open “User interface languages” by clicking on it and select Upper Sorbian” as an additional language by clicking on “This component and all subcomponents will be installed on the local hard disk”.
  • Now confirm the installation a few more times (approx. 4x) by clicking on “Next”.
  • Open LibreOffice and click on the menu “Tools” -> “Options”. Here you can set the language for the “user interface” to Upper Sorbian under “Language settings” -> “Languages” on the corresponding right-hand side and confirm this with “OK”.
  • LibreOffice asks for a restart, click on “Restart now”.
